Privacy

SF50 TOLD has no account, no advertising, and no analytics profile of you. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it does not sell or share your information with anyone. What follows is the specific detail behind that summary.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter and everything the app computes is stored locally, in the app’s own container. That includes your aircraft configuration and empty weight, the weights and fuel loads you enter, the conditions you type in, your favorite and recent airports, your settings, the downloaded airport database, and every performance result the app produces.

None of it is uploaded, backed up to a server run by this app, or visible to anyone but you. If you delete the app, it goes with it.

Location

If you allow location access, the app uses your position to sort the airports in its on-device database by distance, so the nearest field is the first one you see. Your position is read on the device, used on the device, and never transmitted anywhere. Denying location access disables nearest-airport search and changes nothing else.

What leaves your device

The app makes network requests only to fetch data it needs to do its job. Each request carries what is required to answer it — typically an airport identifier or a file name — and no identifier for you.

• Airport and runway data. The nav database is downloaded from public release files hosted on GitHub, then kept on your device until the next cycle.
• Weather. METAR, TAF, and winds-aloft data come from the FAA’s Aviation Weather Center. Where a field does not report, forecast conditions come from Apple Weather.
• NOTAMs. NOTAM lookups for an airport you select are sent to a service operated for this app, which relays them to the official NOTAM source.
• Terrain data. Terrain tiles covering the area you are calculating for are downloaded from public object storage.
• Diagnostics. Crash and performance reports are sent to Sentry.

Diagnostics

When the app crashes or runs slowly, it sends a report to Sentry so the problem can be found and fixed. Those reports contain crash data, performance measurements, and related technical diagnostics.

They are not linked to your identity. The app explicitly turns off the collection of personally identifying information, including your IP address, so a report describes what the software did and not who was using it. Diagnostics are used to fix and improve the app, and for nothing else.

What the app never does

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No tracking of you across other companies’ apps or websites.
• No sale or sharing of your information.
• No account, sign-in, or email address required — or requested.

Third-party services

The services listed above are operated by other parties and handle data under their own policies: Apple (Apple Weather), the FAA (aviation weather and NOTAM data), GitHub (nav data hosting), Cloudflare (terrain data hosting), and Sentry (diagnostics). Downloading the app from the App Store is a transaction between you and Apple, governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page. Because the app is developed in the open, the history of every change to it is public in the project’s repository.
